Clio Partner

Clio Implementation and Support for Law Firms

MHSB configures Clio Manage and Clio Grow around one firm's intake path, matter structure and reporting needs, then supports the system under an agreed scope.

Standalone service

Clio implementation and support is a standalone service. The engagement requires no other featured platform: a firm can engage MHSB for Clio work alone, whether or not any other system is in place.

What MHSB works with

Clio’s product line divides between Clio Manage, the practice management system covering matters, billing and workflows, and Clio Grow, the intake and client relationship layer. Implementation work spans both: intake forms and pipelines in Grow, matter templates, custom fields, automated workflows and document templates in Manage, and the connection between them where a signed client becomes a matter. Clio Payments and the Clio Scheduler extend the same system into payments and booking. Integration paths include native connections, Clio API access, and Zapier workflows.

The Clio diagnostic audit method

Before configuration, MHSB runs a diagnostic audit of the Clio tenant: how intake actually arrives, which custom fields are in use and which are orphaned, where matter templates diverge from practice, and which reports the firm can trust. The audit produces a written findings list, and configuration work proceeds from that list rather than from a generic checklist. An audit-first path is available both to firms new to Clio and to firms with an existing tenant that has drifted.

Evidence and partner status

The partner label shown on this page comes from a published evidence file that is the single source for partner labels on this site; the current label for Clio appears in the page header and on the technology partners page, and it changes only when the evidence file changes.

Engagement modes

New implementation

A firm adopting Clio, or replacing another system, is taken from discovery through configuration, data migration and go-live.

Optimisation of an existing setup

An installed Clio system is audited against the firm's workflows; configuration, custom fields, templates and automations are corrected.

Ongoing support

Post-launch changes and questions are handled inside an agreed support window with a defined response scope.

Method

  1. Discovery

Practice areas, intake sources, matter types and reporting obligations are mapped before any configuration is changed.

  2. Configuration

Clio Manage and Clio Grow are configured to the firm: matter templates, custom fields, intake forms, pipelines and permission structure.

  3. Integrations

Connections the firm already relies on, such as email, calendaring and payment processing, are connected and tested against the firm's workflows.

  4. Reporting

Reports the firm will actually read are defined and built: intake source performance, matter pipeline and financial views.

  5. Training

Staff are trained on the workflows built for them, not on generic product tours.

  6. Documentation

The configuration, naming conventions and decision log are written down so the system survives staff turnover.

Workflows

Intake to matter with Grow Illustrative

Clio Grow intake forms feed a structured intake pipeline; qualified leads convert to Clio Manage matters with matter templates applied automatically.

Custom field architecture Illustrative

A field schema spanning Clio Manage and Clio Grow is designed so each practice area's matter data is consistent, reportable and not duplicated.

Document automation rollout Illustrative

The firm's recurring documents are converted to document templates with merge fields drawn from custom fields, sent for e-signature from the same flow.

Automated matter setup Illustrative

Clio Manage automated workflows create task lists and apply templates when a matter type is opened, replacing manual setup checklists.

Capability statements on this page are limited to Clio product areas verified in the MHSB source register during September 2026; see docs/repositioning/platform-sources.md (Clio section).

Deliverables

  • Configured Clio Manage and Clio Grow tenant matched to the firm's practice structure
  • Matter templates and custom field schema with a naming convention
  • Intake forms and intake pipeline configured in Clio Grow
  • Document templates with merge fields, wired to e-signature
  • Integration connections configured and tested
  • Reporting definitions the firm can run without assistance
  • Configuration documentation and a staff training session

Boundaries

  • Clio is a third-party product; MHSB implements and supports it, and does not represent Clio.
  • Support is provided inside an agreed window and scope, never as unlimited coverage.
  • Billing rates, trust accounting rules and bar compliance decisions remain the firm's responsibility.

Next step

A scoping consultation establishes the firm's current state, the engagement mode that fits it, and the scope and sequence of the work before anything is changed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does MHSB sell Clio licenses?

No. MHSB implements and supports Clio. Licensing is between the firm and Clio.

We already use Clio. Can MHSB still help?

Yes. Optimisation of an existing setup is a standard engagement: the current configuration is audited against the firm's workflows and corrected where it has drifted.

Does the engagement require any other platform?

No. Clio implementation and support is a standalone service and requires no other featured platform.

Is data migration included?

Data migration scope is set during discovery. Contact, matter and field-level migration from the prior system is quoted as part of the new implementation mode.
